re: #909 Coracle

Huh. That’s odd. I just logged in to gmail to check and everything seemed OK. Let me know if you want to pursue it again. We’ll find a way to make it work.

I probably shouldn’t do this with my work email anyway. Was the reason for this that you don’t want to quote the price publicly?

I don’t need it anyway. Thanks for trying. And thanks to Charles for the attentive moderating. How he puts up with this, I’ll never know.

Meanwhile, the topic of the thread seems to have fizzled. JAXA just came out with the Sept. 7 Arctic Sea Ice extent and we’re 584,844 km. sq. above last year on this date (you have to click on the download data button to get the numbers).

Now, I expect this to sag a bit but the minimum is still likely to be about a million km. sq. above 2007. “Back to linear, naturally,” (to the tune of “Alone again, naturally”).

By the way, JAXA updates their numbers sometime later in the day so my arithmetic will look wrong in a few hours. The current number is 5,324,688. The updates are generally upwards but not always. They tend to be a fraction of the delta from the previous day (+/- 20% or so). Sept 6th was 5,345,156 (final answer) so a revision of more than 4k km. sq. would be surprising.

I gotta get some work done.

Back later.
