Actually, he hasn’t (in terms of job offers), but I’m at least learning useful shit as opposed to doing math proofs for the rest of my existence.

Those proofs did seem to be a waste of time. The only practical purpose I can see for such class in a CS curriculum is to serve as a filter class, like freshman calculus at an engineering school.
