I’m surprised it took them that long. It’s not surprising. John Paul II visited Cuba too and he was much more conservative. Seems to me that conservatives only really like the Pope when he’s using the church to put down abortion and gays which is something the church has been moving away from during this pontiff’s time.

They want a Pope who makes their cilices tingle.
