The consensus I’m seeing on social media is that the “pardon” business likely means one of two things: Manafort or Needy Amin is so desperate for attention that he’s promising a pardon when has no intention of granting such.

I’m just waiting for Trump to use the pardon power directly as an accusation, snidely offering “grace” to Obama for “spying on my campaign” and suchlike.
