That was ping pong.
At that time, I’d play ping pong, and a friend of mine, just before slamming the ball, wanted to yell something in Chinese. All he could come up with was “moo goo gai pan”, so that became what we’d yell.
Hard to play ping pong in a basement with a low ceiling, though. If the ball hits the ceiling, is it still in play?
