One of my concerns about “Candidate” Barack Obama prior to the 2008 election concerned his attitudes about the middle east. I was thinking that spending all those years listening to jeremiah wright may have helped to mis-calibrate his moral compass concerning Israel and its neighbors. Furthermore, I felt from hearing and reading his words that he was extremely naive about the motives of the arabs and the middle eastern adherents of islam. But along the way, most of my concerns were alleviated, mainly because I think “President” Obama learned a great deal about many mideast issues that “Candidate” Obama had not yet learned. I believe President Obama may wish that someone other than Netanyahu was the PM of Israel, but I do not think that Obama’s personal feelings about Netanyahu will turn him against Israel in any harmful way.
