I expect any immigrant from any country to assimilate and understand/respect the laws, just as we should expect our citizens to behave accordingly. Religion should not be an exception.

Of course, that’s one of the big differences between the US and other countries.

You can come here from any other country, work hard, play by the rules, and others will just see you as an American.

The same is not true in most other countries. Immigrants stay in their own little enclaves, and even their children who are born in the host country don’t consider themselves British (or French, or whatever).
