The conflict may be ideological or over resources, but the conflicts will not go away as long as homo sapiens can fashion a stealth bomber or a sharp stick to gain advantage over another group of homo sapiens.

Do you understand that Hobbes’ theory is not that if you remove social controls chaos will result? You are just basically misstating the premise of Leviathan.

Hobbes does not spend a lot of time, actually, on why various states go to war with each other, either, so you’re really double-mistating what Leviathan is about. It is not about geopolitical conflict, or intersocietal conflict. It is his theory of the nature of man and the rise of the state, and the moral and ethical obligations of the individual in relation to the state.

That is how we roll, and it is how we will always be. Sorry to harsh the mellow here, but again, the sum of recorded history bears this out
