I’m really weight conscious for most gear, and a 12 oz belt axe with edge enough to bite is not easy to find. Can always baton it through with another piece of wood if needed. The bucksaw is honestly too heavy in my opinion for most solo or two person backpacking uses. It’s perfect however for larger groups with distributed loads and pulling behind in a Bob Trailer for mountain bike trail clearing. The weight of the larger axes are really only useful for home or cabin use. The fokos / valaskas are great decorations, also useful if you’re traveling with small dogs or pack goats and want a walking stick that will also intimidate the odd predator from getting any ideas.

Shipping weight 7.2 oz.
