Actually, a good many racehorse don’t live pampered lives when their racing career is over, or they weren’t competitive. Look up what happened to Kentucky Derby winner Ferdinand. A pampered retirement is a fairy tale sold to the public so they can sleep at night thinking about all the pretty horsies living better than they do.

Horse slaughter is not humane. Don’t even get me started. I’ve been in the trenches with this issue and all the bullshit reasons idiots think it’s “necessary” for more than a decade and it’s the fastest way to raise my blood pressure or get popped in the chops if you’re within standing distance.
