Actually if you listen to Rachel Maddow, Newt is even more of a gold digger then she is. He been acting like he was going to run for president a few times and then not running and keeping the money. Plus he offers people awards that they have to pay thousands of dollars to get. Palin is an amateur compared to Newt if Maddow is to be believed.

There was this one time that Romney was trying to get people to come and compete for some awards. It was horribly expensive to get there, plus the competition was about as intense as you could get. The awards were just these round circles of metal.

Dude. People fell for it.
