The Heartland Institute is absolutely a shill for the tobacco industry. They are infamous for circulating thoroughly discredited false claims about the dangers of smoking. And now they’re circulating false claims about the dangers of climate change.

Charles, thank you — clearly you have seen evidence that their work was not verifiable and repeatable, — that is scientific — you made my original point perfectly.

I don’t know what studies your referencing or whether it was their work or if they were just a paid spokes man or if the work was honestly mistaken, but I do know that doesn’t mean this gentleman’s current studies are in error. That would be a flawed ad hominem argument that says nothing about his current science.

At lest that is Skeptical Science argued when they defended scientists against the inappropriate argument that, “they were wrong in the 70’s, how do we trust them now.”

Make the case, don’t attack the man — if his science is wrong then show it and remember shills exist on both sides.
