re: #79 I Would Prefer Not To

The dam is bursting on the Hollywood casting couch system and the systematic harassment/abuse of people who are incapable of defending themselves against such actions because they’re fearful their careers will be destroyed because of the power of those carrying out the abuse.

And this extends beyond Hollywood to all aspects of society, the workplace, or even political sphere.

Trump was the most prominent manifestation of this, but he wasn’t alone.

How do we know the problem will continue long into the future? Because the GOP still elected him president knowing Trump admitted to being a sex predator in the same vein as Weinstein, Spacey, and all the rest.

There’s a segment of the population who thinks this kind of abuse and harassment is acceptable.

Meanwhile, the NYPD and prosecutors are readying rape charges against Weinstein - Paz de la Huerta has come forward claiming Weinstein raped her. She’s not alone. It shouldn’t have taken dozens of women to get to the point where Weinstein faces justice (the Manhattan prosecutors declined to pursue charges in the past). People in power have ways to protect themselves - the system isn’t rigged; it’s fixed in these people’s favor). That too has to change, and it can’t come fast enough.
