I detested the task of collecting eggs at my uncle’s farm. Besides the barely breathable air in a chicken coop on a summer day, those hens were extremely nasty protective against 7 year old hands.

Ah! We rarely had broody hens so that was rarely a problem. Just wore a light glove or clucked back at them if they were.

Nothing like fresh eggs at breakfast 😉
