And where exactly is this great fountain of educational programming in commercial TV? I’m certainly not seeing on any channels I have. Every channel that had any educational value has been replaced by “reality” freak shows.

Well, NASA still has its own NASA Channel. The National Geographic Channel is good. Discovery Channel itself is often decent.

And moreover, so the heck what? Those channels don’t travel over the public airwaves and they are beamed from satellites not owned by the federal government. In short, Government Didn’t Build That!
