It blows my mind trying to comprehend their sense of smell. I once read that to us, vegetable soup smells like vegetable soup. To a dog, vegetable soup smells like each vegetable, whatever meat stock was used, each individual spice, etc.

And then they use this great power of smell to detect the nuances of the subtle differences in each others’ poop.
