GOP establishment vs. the GOP base should be interesting in 2016. If the nuts can unite behind a true believer, that should suffice to win the nomination. The establishment knows this, and will most likely pick one and try for a repeat of 2012. However, I can’t imagine the establishment picking Romney again. They will have a better chance in both primary and general with any random suit they can pass off as a generic Republican.

So if Romney does run in 2016, it would pretty much have to be as one of the nuts, which would be greatly entertaining. Lyndon LaRouche indeed.

It’ll be interesting to see if the wingnuts can unify behind one candidate early. They might, and I could see Ted Cruz as being acceptable enough to the majority of the Teahadis to pass muster.
