Flagged down on a Portland street after a man stole two guitars from a lounge, Police Chief Mike Reese quickly made an arrest two blocks away - and tweeted about it.Police spokesman Sgt. Pete Simpson says an assistant chief was with Reese when a security officer stopped him Friday and directed him to nearby Chapman Square. That’s where the suspect was taken into custody.
The guitars were returned to the Bing Lounge and a 52-year-old man was booked into jail for investigation of second-degree theft.
The chief is an avid guitar player and member of The Usual Suspects band.
