Yeah I do remember that too. Honestly, it all just saddens me. Working class whites in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and other places, descendants of immigrants who got shit because of their accents and were assumed to be radicals joining the Trump parade just saddens me. It’s personal too since that’s my background. Nativism and racism are so ugly. At the same time, I am glad my own family has perspective. My parents think nothing less of the fact that their only granddaughter is Hispanic and in fact joke that she’ll be dancing better than us because of her Latin roots.

Same here. That perspective helped me prepare the moment when Trump would not limit his attacks to Mexicans from the beginning of his campaign. I knew the buck would not stop there, and I was right of course.
