I just love all the out-of-staters who have become Illinois experts overnight. They are the same people who believe a flat tax is the way to go. Well. Illinois is absolute proof a flat income tax does NOT work.

People threatening to move to “KY/IA/ID” etc.? Well, they are in for a big surprise as taxes there for their income brackets are actually higher. Not to mention home/auto/life.

We’ve gone 2 years under Rauner without paying our bills. So many fellow residents would have preferred junk status for the state instead of a 4.95% flat income tax. Suddenly it dawns on them that 4.95% of a $30k income is more a detriment than that same tax on someone making $100k. Uh. Hello.
