As Jim Wright noted in his last column, they aren’t concerned about the next election. Like vulture capitalists who load up a company with debt and cash out, it would appear the current crop of GOP candidates are doing the same thing with the country.

They don’t care if they burn down their own party, because they will go away rich.

The more sinister explanation is that they will support Trump in eliminating free elections entirely.
