That stretch I know from going to western NY from Philly via I-80 and then going north from Williamsport up 15 to get to Corning. Was interesting to watch it convert into a better highway over the past decade or so.

If you drove from I-80 north to Buffalo on US 15 in the 70’s you went through hell. Rochester wasn’t much better. Now it’s a 4 lane 85 MPH walk in the park north of Williamsport.
Old Steam Valley decline. Now imagine snow and ice and fog and OMFG A HERD OF DEER.
