When Jimmy Carter was just a doddering old guy who built Habitat for Humanity houses, I respected him.

Then when he first started monitoring elections, I respected him.

But when he revealed that he favored the most totalitarian side in every election he monitored, I not only lost all respect for him —I realized that he had always felt this way, and I had been blind.

Habitat for Humanity isn’t even an efficient way to help poor homeless people.

Better to give people opportunities to learn, work & develop their own tools for self-sufficiency.
