I have that diagnosis and a few others, too. The right pharmaceutical regimen has transformed my life.

I play cards often on the weekend who is very bubbly and his discussion topics jump around a lot (can quote Robot Chicken and Family Guy stuff at length as well.) Turns out that his meds make him that way. And he says that off of them he is a complete depressive wreck.

Another area where I know enough separate cases to realize that the whole topic of psychotropic medicine use in the US is not something that you can broadly whitewash as good or bad. People benefit from it, people abuse/are abused by it, and it’s not a panacea cure for the ills of our society. (Plus there are the various SF examples of it being used by a government to coerce/control its population.)
