So often I see political strategist making mistakes like this and it reminds me of my high school writing teacher advising us: “Show, don’t tell.”

Back is 2004 I remember someone from John Kerry’s campaign saying that he was going duck hunting to win the votes of hunters and I thought “No, you don’t win the votes of hunters by saying that. You win them by saying, ‘He’s going duck hunting ‘cause he really loves hunting ducks.’”

Yeah the Kerry campaign did a piss poor job here. Did not feel their presence here at all. I mean granted the political climate was different here in 2008 than 2004 but they were virtually invisible. The Obama campaign meanwhile had a big campaign rally that my cousin went to in the heart of Loudoun County which hadn’t gone Democratic on a presidential level since LBJ.
