LMAO. I still don’t get how an Austrian economist from the 20th century has so many devotees who defend slavery. But my problem with the von Mises cult is that they’re all about their theories at the expense of reality. They are in effect a lot like Marxists in that way. I’m a Keynesian not just because I think JMK made the most sense but because I think Keynes understood economics is a living and breathing science.

Look, if we were all hatched out as fully formed adults who could then have an education chip implanted and be sent out to realize our potential as individuals, the a full Ayn Randian world of Free Market competitiveness would be just the thing.

But we are born helpless and dependent, most of us die helpless and dependent and some of us live our lives that way, and all of us are dependent on each other to some degree or another whether we admit it or not.

And that is where their economic ideology falls apart.
