Damn good question. Is it the “corporatists” from both sides of the aisle? Is it a bipartisan coalition of “burn the government down” crazies? I’m truly and utterly vexed.

It’s a complete misreading of the Democratic Party at the moment. This isn’t 1992 when the party had lost three straight elections and five of six; and wasn’t sure what it was. And the electorate of 2020 is wholly different from the 90s… hell, it’s completely different from 2004.

At this point, a third party challenger would be better suited to chase disaffected Republican voters. It only makes sense if you think you can not only get more votes than Trump in deep red states, while also holding off the Democrat - and that doesn’t even get to the element of likely losing swing states by big margins (and creating even more swing states - like allowing a Democrat to win Missouri with 45%).

Really, unless you think you can get to 35% in a three way race, you have no business being in.
