My Da (born in 1927 in Denver and learned to ski at A-Basin and always wore yellow goggles) would say “Outstanding powder skiing! But what is he wearing on his head?” Helmets are so not retro.
My mother bought me a helmet right after she saw me ski in a race, I was about 12. I don’t have a picture to show (buried somewhere in a closet at my parents’ house) but imagine a Spaceball except the helmet was dark red.
They’ve come a long way since then. Although my helmet that I use today… has Angry Birds on it. (Hey, a kids helmet fits my head)
