The more this drags on, the more it hurts them but at the same time, if they are to admit the gig is up, that’s a lot of reliably Republican voters turning on the GOP. Too fucking bad, they made their beds by making their base hostile to democratic norms.

They are hoist by their own petard, so to speak. They know that control of the Senate hangs on winning two runoff elections in Georgia and if they alienate Trump, they lessen their chances of ever mattering again.
