The songs get stuck in your head for days. I did Godspell with my church youth group in high school. I walked around singing “Day By Day” for *ages* even after the play wrapped.

I’d rather do the gay Jesus play any day than go through that again. Heh.

Claiming Jesus as one of one’s own ethnicity is age old.

We have black Jesus… possible, but he certainly if he were from the royal line would have been able to (pass) David had red hair for crying out loud.

Blond hair and blue eyed Jesus is a favorite… Sorry but very few Jews whose ancestors did not reside in Eastern Europe have those features.

We have English Jesus, who in addition to being blond and blue eyed was somehow transplanted to Britain.

Now I really do not have a dog in this race.

Gay Jesus is a way for yet another group to make a claim. Everyone else does it after all.

I can say though that the real Jesus was most likely a bit furry, brown or black haired, though possibly red, deeply tan and had brown eyes. You know, like most Israeli men are…

But that is just me being logical and all.
