Even assuming the worst interpretation, OK, Obama might not have paid attention to this particular issue at that time and may have heard about some “studies or something”, and used the politician-speak here. OK, shit happens. What counts is the capacity to learn and correct past mistakes. I think there’s no doubt about Obama on that score. Oh, and that’s still far from pandering.
