I totally get that. I find it very arrogant. I don’t know how other countries view themeslves but I’ve always been wary of the perception that America is divinely special. I’m proud of my nation and love it but I see her flaws as well as her strengths.

America is special because a lot of people have worked very, very hard to make it that way.

Those who think we’re divinely special, and there are a lot of ‘em, are the same ones that think government (which is a manifestation of the will of the people) cannot work to make it better.
