That proves what I’ve always thought about conservatives. They think Israel is the only measure that can be viewed as supporting Jews or not. As if the right wing’s support of Israel is actually based in something that actually makes sense and isn’t rooted in crazy doomsday crap.

And it also works the other way: a lot of conservatives/Republicans seem to think that “support for Israel” - to be more precise, a slavish and uncritical support of various Israeli government “security” policies - is the sole issue American Jews care about; and every two/four years act surprised when American Jews vote their own preferences (strongly Democratic) - which voting patterns they usually end up “rationalizing” with “explanations” which typically differ from antisemitic tropes only in a matter of degree.
