I imagine it’s part of being Black. All minorities go through it at some point. One would think, though, getting to be president would mean a certain immunity, but I guess not.
I remember when he took the kids to the slave tradepost. I remember seeing their faces and the fear and sadness that went over them. I remember my mother telling me about my family when I was a little girl and it was the same fear and sadness I saw in them.

The positive thing about it is that it makes you strong and gives others (like us) an opportunity to rally around the “good” guys, the moral guys. So maybe it ain’t all bad.
Those are beautiful pictures. Sad, but lovely.
