It’s not at all the same. A gay person doesn’t ‘need help’ to cure their ‘condition’. It’s who they are and IT IS OK. We don’t need to go through conversion therapy in order to make us more acceptable. Rick Perry made this argument when he ran for president and he was derided widely.

Along with being gay, I’m 31 years into sobriety (I drank a lifetime supply before then) and I really resent the comparison of the two. They do not compare.
