Suspension is what keeps a bike from lasting a looooong time, the way they used to. That, and carbon fiber. And disc brakes.

Modern bikes suck.

I’ve got a 1980’s Specialized Rockhopper out in the garage that’s been hanging from the rafters for about 15 years. It has the original bio-pace chainwheels and almost all of the original parts. It’s a bit of a tank but it fits me really well and I like the bike a lot. I was trying to decide if I should replace it or just take it in to get greased up and get some new tires, cables and brake pads. You’re comment is helping me make my decision.
