Honestly, even if Trump loses this year, I kinda expect Don Jr to be the nominee come 2028. The GOP is pretty firmly in the grip of the Trump family now, and I don’t see that changing for the foreseeable future.

I don’t know that Trump can pass his mantle of leadership onto Don Jr. that easily though. Thanks to his mastery of PR and The Apprentice, Trump has an undeserved reputation as a business genius who knows how to get things done. Don Jr. is just a coked up mess who rants on social media.
