What the hell, I’ll share my story. I was a kid in a divorced house where my Mother denigrated my Father continuously, year after year after year. I think it was my child’s mind that said, “no one can be that bad!” and started to doubt the comments. Once I was old enough to act on my own I got back in touch with my wonderful Dad, and heard his side of the story. There’s always two sides you know. We have the best relationship and he is a good man. My mother blew it by trying to keep me on her side.

My wife has a simliar story. THe kids were used as pawns by the mom. Truly sad. Everything eventually got ironed out (after many, many years), but my wife still tears up about the time lost when birthdays and holidays roll around.
