I suspect that Fischer (though of course I cannot know what exactly he is thinking) is basing his assumption of what same-sex households are like from the author’s own experience, rather than the brief analysis of the aforementioned studies.

I think he’s basing it on the fact that he hates and fears gay people and would believe anything negative about them.
