Democracy, even a democratic Republic, is an awful form of government. It sucks, no doubt about it.

But it sucks less than every other form of government that humans have tried in the last six thousand years or so of human history.

Won’t dispute that; there’s no other system, except for the one where I and I alone have absolute power, I’d rather live under.
