As part of the security arrangements with President Obama coming to NYC to speak at Cooper Union, someone caught the NYPD confiscating bikes that were along the route to be taken (and which appears to be Houston Street at Bowery).

WTF?!!

Who in the hell came up with that idea? So how do you get your bike back, go to the police impound lot with your proof of purchase and frame ID number if you have it? Someone needs a friggin demotion for that kind of idiocy, as if a bike frame could hold enough explosive to damage the Presidential armoured vehicles? (Without actually being strapped to the damn car or something.)
