In watching Greenwald now, it strikes me that at least part of his support comes from the same element of human nature that (briefly) allowed Newt Gingrich to surge in the polls last year: there is a segment of the population that loves to see arrogant loudmouths in action. I think simple minded people of any political orientation are easily convinced by extreme confidence.
