There’s more to that statement than meets the eye, I’ll bet. Even he admits he was partying hearty. But let’s review: He would have been around 30 when all this happened below; he was no kid but an adult, no doubt a spoiled, privileged white boy who couldn’t even stay in college because he was so undisciplined. What would make voters think he has changed any? No doubt he got used to lying at a very early age, and maybe the drugs he used took their toll, but if this is the kind of politician Texas wants, they can keep him down there, not put him in national office.
