I’d never hear the slice thing before reading this post. GJ’s guess sounds as plausible as any I’d likely be able to come up with.

In fact, the only other thing I can think of is that it’s an allusion to killing with a sword, but that doesn’t seem like it would be nearly insulting enough (at least not in the feeble mind of the sort of person who thinks up that kind of crap).

I think we’re trying too hard to peer into that feeble mind.
