Howie Carr and Gov. Christie get into a shouting match over Christie’s proposals for means testing SS and Carr says that it’s a bait and switch to anyone who’s paid into the system (hey, sound familiar to anyone who just saw the IL supreme court rule that attempts to change the pension by anything other than a constitutional amendment is unconstitutional because the contractual obligation between the state and pensioneers trumps the politics of raiding the fund and underpaying the fund over years). It’s the same story in NJ where Christie refused to fully fund the pension after rewriting the pension rule swearing that he’d make a full payment. He didn’t, and the pensioneers sued. Christie cries state poverty, but refuses to touch taxes to close the gap.

Rinse and repeat. Every time, it’s the GOP kicking the buck down the line, adding to deficits, debt, and pension/transportation trust fund shortfalls.

It’s the very model of a fiscally irresponsible illiterate.
