Man catfished an Alaska teen and convinced her to kill for $9M, police say (USA Today)

From Indiana, he convinced over a period of about a year a teenager to kill her friend, film it, and photograph it, and he would pay her $9 million.

After he talked her into it, she recruited other friends (including two minors) to carry out the deed, believing she would be paid.

The federal government is trying the case as it was essentially an interstate murder contract.
