State government and private companies are having to step up and fill the whole left by a completely inept Federal Response.

And I’m sure there is going to be a nontrivial segment of the RE punditariat (and officialdom) who will use this fact as “proof” that Federal involvement is unnecessary in stuff like pandemics, and cite it as a handy catch-all excuse for Trump’s incompetence and ignorance, etc…
