Yeah, that’s pretty much the idea. The Republican base is much more interested in exciting itself than rebuilding a serious political party. She’s probably not going to work on building her credentials, she doesn’t have to. The more simplistic she is the more they like her.
I’d much rather see the Republican party get serious but they aren’t interesting in that. Right now they should be working on getting serious economists (not Ron Paul) working on ideas and platforms but they’re pinning their hopes on Obama’s imminent failure instead of creating their own success. It might work but I’m still anticipating that Obama’s going to be a two term President. We’ll see if the GOP gets serious in 8 years.
