i’m just trying to keep the subject out of conversation in my house, because i’m a big wimp and although a vasectomy makes more sense at this point than another IUD for her…it’s just…a needle and…my wedding tackle…yeah. i’m a coward.

I am having a sudden vivid image of a party some years ago, when a friend’s husband, newly vasectomized, had his oldest son land feet-first on Daddy’s lap.

In one of the only moments I ever really admired him, he did not scream and drop-kick the toddler. There was a sort of stifled shriek, though.
