I don’t know about all that! As a Leftie, I thought many, certainly not all, of the complaints about Bush were legit targets. The parts of the Patriot Act that dealt with wire tapping, for one. I’m not a fan of the faith based initiative. Tax cuts for the rich. Off the top of my tired little head.

I think what folks don’t get is that they never got Charles. He didn’t speak much about domestic policy in the early years, but when he did, he was usually (always?) on the Left. Terri Schiavo comes to mind.

I never heard of the idea that this place jogged Left because it’s the superior thought (I mean, I certainly think so lol). Charles didn’t so much go to the Left as much as he gave up on the Right… if that makes sense.

Tax cuts for the rich? Didin’t they get the same 5% cut that everyone else got?
That was a lot smaller- proportionately percentage wise cut than was given to the lowest tax bracket, which got a full 33% tax cut, (5% cut - 15% bracket - ednded up 10% bracket).

Now, the coming expiration of the Bush tax cuts will mean the lowest tax bracket will get a full 50% increase… 10% to 15%.
How about that?
